IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatment
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment may be the perfect solution for you if you are looking for a more even skin tone & complexion. At Golden Laser Aesthetics, our IPL treatment targets unwanted pigmentation, vascular lesions, and acne.
It also minimizes the appearance of:
Age spots
Birthmarks
Sun damage
Redness
Rosacea
Broken capillaries (blood vessels)
Acne
Our IPL utilizes a light spectrum with specific filters based on what we are treating. The bright light passes through the epidermis, drawing out the pigment-producing cells and dispersing the uneven pigment. Certain candidates may be prescribed a topical pigment suppressant pre and post-procedure.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatment FAQ
What is IPL treatment?
Intense pulsed light, or IPL, uses a light spectrum to treat concerns like rosacea, acne, and pigmentation issues. Brief bursts of broad-spectrum light are used on the skin’s surface, targeting unwanted browns and reds in the skin.
How does IPL work?
IPL delivers brief pulses of a broad spectrum to help the skin using different wavelengths. The wavelengths target reds and browns in the skin to restore a more even complexion.
How much time does the treatment take?
Treatment time is determined by the size of the area we are treating. On average, the treatment lasts anywhere from 20 minutes to one hour.
Is there any downtime after IPL?
IPL treatment may have little to no downtime. You may experience a sunburnt-like look and feel to your skin for 24-48 hours post-treatment. Pigment may look darker for up to a week or so after treatment. IPL feels like a rubber band snaps with some heat and very minimal discomfort.
How many IPL treatments will I need?
Depending on the skin conditions being treated, we typically recommend between two to six treatments for the best results.
